Individual sessions are at the heart of my practice. During this time, we discuss aspects of the athlete’s mental game that they want to work on and create a personalized plan to get there. These sessions are the ideal time to address the athlete’s confidence, self-talk, communication strategies, goals, how they manage pressure — or whatever aspect of their mental game might be most important to them at the time we meet. Sessions are focused on developing mental skills to support performance both in sport and in life.
While I use counseling-like listening and responding skills, and it's important for me to understand who my clients are as people, not just athletes, mental performance coaching is not therapy. Sessions are performance-related.
